Southern Sweet Ice Tea

You may have noticed my sign off is "Lets grab our sweet tea, Kick back and relax" Or something very similar. Well now you can know how I make my Southern Sweet Ice Tea.

Here is what you will need:
1 big pot (with lid)
1 wooden spoon
12-13 cups of water
3-4 cups of sugar
5-6 tea bags (Any kind is okay)
Baking Soda
Ice
Mint or lemon (optional)

First start to get the water boiling in the pot this shouldn't take to long to do. While you are waiting, tie all of the tea bags together. This will make sure you don't lose any in the bottom of the pot after steeping.

When the pot is boiling put the tea bags in and boil for 5 minuets, turn it down to a simmer or off. Add the sugar according to your tastes. Put a lid on the pot careful it will be hot (It will retain the heat for awhile!) Wait for an hour or two. It isn't going anywhere.

When it has cooled down enough to where you can drink (still hot though) take out the teabags (WARNING: THESE WILL BE HOT). One the tea bags are disposed put about a teaspoon of baking soda in and stir. This will make sure that the bitterness is out of the tea.

Now you can wait and put the lid on it until it cools down to luke warm,(What I do) or you can grab a glass of Ice and ladle some southern gold. Add a lemon or a sprig of mint (Optional) and WHALAH! You have Your Southern Sweet Ice Tea!

Now you have no reason to not grab a glass of sweet tea, kick back and relax
